After Graduation plans...SUMMER TIME!!!

I have finally completed my student teaching. In reality it went by sooo fast, I can't believe that it was actually 16 weeks. I am now starting to apply for teaching positions, and have had a few interviews, so hopefully in time I will get a job. I always thought finding a teaching job would be no problem, but sadly the local school district here in Tucson have just laid off more then 500 teachers. I am not sure what my future holds out for me with a job, but I will continue to pray about it, and something will be directed my way, even if its not exactly what I think I want!

My graduation is officially on Friday, May 7th. I have decided to not attend, and rather have surgery to get my gall bladder removed. Silly...I know! But I have been dealing with this issues for over 2 years now, so getting my gall bladder out is truly a graduation present to me! :-)

Daniel and I are hoping to make it to California this summer to meet up with my brother (Sam). Sam and his family are planning a trip to Disneyland and possibly Sea World. We know they could always use extra hands with Lili and Jaiden at Disneyland, so Daniel and I hope to join in on the fun!

We will be moving to a new house at the end of this month, so I will post new pictures of our place soon!

Welcome to Miami...

In April we got to go to Miami for 4 days thanks to Daniel's work! We stayed at the Fontaine Bleu resort, which was AMAZING!!! We had a balcony room that looked over the Atlantic Ocean. The weather the first day was stormy, but the afternoon and days to come brought lots of sunshine and wonderful temperatures. We spent most of our time laying out on the beach.

Daniel's work hosted two dinner nights, one was an awards dinner that was a formal sit down event. It was fun to get dressed up and go out for the evening. Here are some pictures from our trip. Enjoy!

Viva Las Vegas

It has been way too long! I have lots of stuff I need to blog about...so here it begins:

Daniel and I went to Las Vegas in March for Spring break. It was the first time for both of us! We stayed at the Wynn Encore on the 57th floor, very nice. We did lots of walking and sight seeing and enjoyed eating out, drinking while walking around and saw a show. Here are some pictures from our trip.

We enjoyed Vegas, but both of us decided it was not our ideal vacation place! I think we are more tropical beach people than city and night life.

Trip Up the Mountain

We decided last weekend to take a day trip up to Mt. Lemmon! This was the first time Brandy had been in the snow! What a blast she had! Here are some pictures from the day...enjoy!

Disneyland

This year, Daniel and I decided to do a mini-vacay instead of buying each other Christmas gifts! We picked Disneyland! Daniel had never been, and I love it. What a better place to enjoy the holiday season, then "the merriest place on earth."

Even with the large crowds and the constant running into strollers it was a great time. The festive lights and awesome decorations truly made for a great start to the Christmas season. Disney truly is a magical place! Your inner child really does come out, and everyone there is really in the best of moods! (I know they adverstise that, but hey it is the truth!)

Weekends...

If only the weekdays would get shorter and the weekends would get longer! Daniel and I had a pretty quiet weekend, watched a lot of football and helped out on some yard work over at my parents house.

Lucky enough this week is a short one for me! We have parent teacher conferences at our school, so the kids get out each day at 11:30 am! We also have Thursday and Friday off! YAHOO!!! I am soooo looking forward to having two extra days to sleep in! Except we are having a yard sale Friday and Saturday ....so that means no sleeping in, oh well it was a good thought!

I am in the last 8 weeks of my university classes! I cannot wait to be done, and start student teaching in January! Tomorrow I will find out if I passed my AEPA (Arizona Educators Proficiency Assessment) and that will get me certified to teach in the state of Arizona!

Well like a I said pretty boring few days....just busy with work and school! Will write again when we have some interesting stuff to share! Hope everyone has a great week.

Practicum Observation

Well I am currently in my last semester of classes before I start my student teaching in January. Today I had my last practicum observation from my professor. Well last before all the observation I will have to have during my student teaching! My lesson was on plant parts and functions with third graders! I love third grade, they love school, they love their teacher, yet they are becoming so independent and hard workers!
My lesson went really well! I used a smart board...awesome invention! Its a large white board connected to a computer and basically it does everything, you can write on it, shows movies, do games....everything! Its a really great device for visual learners! To left is a picture of what a smartboard looks like...at least an idea of what it is!

I am so excited to begin my student teaching in January, I can't wait to get into the classroom and be with the kiddos everyday! :-)

Cake Decorating

So I have started up on a new hobby! I had a friend ask me to join in on a cake decorating class a few weeks ago...so far I have had 3 classes, completed course one and am thinking about taking course 2. Here are a few pictures of the cakes I have made so far...enjoy!

Well I have read different peoples blogs for awhile now...and have finally decided to go ahead and launch my own blog page! I always figured I would do this when I had kids...but who knows when that will be, so no time better then the present to begin this adventure! Hopefully this will be a great place for our family and friends to see what Daniel and I are up too. Having family across the ocean makes it difficult at times to keep in contact. I will try to keep up to date on postings and also try to add pictures when I have new ones to add! Well this is it for now....until Next time...!
